Origin Story:
I never liked conventional haircuts, something about them never felt right for me. But whenever I saw someone with dreadlocks, it sparked an excitement in me. I knew I wanted them for a while, and the feeling only grew stronger over time. It wasn’t until I moved to the UK for my studies that I finally decided to make it happen.
I asked a classmate with a few dreadlocks if she could do mine. She didn’t have the time to do it for me, but she offered to teach me how. That moment ignited a passion in me, I loved the process, the way it blended craftsmanship with personal expression. From then on, I was hooked.
But I quickly realized I wasn’t just making dreadlocks or jewelry; I was creating a way for people to break free. Free from fast fashion, soulless products, and the pressures to conform to society’s limited views of beauty. I saw the damage synthetic, cookie-cutter styles were doing, not just to the environment, but to individuality. I wanted to fight back, offering natural, handmade alternatives that allowed people to express their true selves.
I’m inspired by the earth’s resources, the patterns found in nature, and the cultures I’ve encountered in my travels. Every design I create, whether it’s a hair wrap, jewelry, or a style for someone’s dreadlocks, is rooted in that passion for authenticity. I’m fighting against the forces that tell us to look the same, act the same, and lose our uniqueness. And I’m doing it by crafting styles that are as original and vibrant as the people who wear them.
Products:
My collection of products is shaped by my creativity and the requests of my clients. What began with me handcrafting a few items expanded as my dreadlock customers sought unique products. While I create some items myself, my passion for travel has led me to collaborate with artisans worldwide, blending my designs with their craftsmanship.
Each product is made in small batches, focusing on natural materials. From wooden jewellery made in Bali to brass pieces and natural clothing from India, I partner with family-owned businesses and create some items in my own studio. My goal is to stay as close to nature as possible, using materials that reflect the environment while keeping synthetic elements to a minimum.
The artisans I work with come from rich cultural traditions and have mastered their crafts. Together, we create beautiful products that tell a story of creativity, nature, and self-expression.

I’ve had dreadlocks for three years and have had them fixed by many people all over the world but Elena is by far the BEST. She neatens and makes new dreadlocks so fast, incredibly neatly and doesn’t hurt your scalp at all (which is rare for me as I have a very sensitive skin).
She’s a beautiful personality so its always a pleasure when I see her and have a chat. I almost aways come away with dreadlocks beads or jewellery as her studio is also full of gorgeous pieces that she’s collected from all over.
I’m not even that local, usually being based in Scotland, and have other dread fixers much nearer to me. However I would always prefer to travel further to get the quality that Elena provides.

But not just that…. I travelled to Kendal to learn Dreadlocks from Elena herself. I was not disappointed. The Loctician course was well structured and covered all necessary to help me grow as a Loctician. With just a few students, Elena was able to give each one of us time and guidance with our techniques. I came away feeling creatively inspired and have been organically growing my client base as a result of the confidence and skills I built on the course.
