CrafterElena goes Thailand! 2013 Read the blog..
So as most of you probably know from my posts CrafterElena was away for a whole month of April travelling and searching for the best crafts of Thailand!
Thailand – The expernience:
Starting from the capital city Bangkok and exploring the extraordinary big markets there we continued up north to Pai and Chang Mai to discover how the people of Thailand live and create, what materials and what techniques they are using to create and sell their hand made crafts.
The introduction was overwhelming! So many new things to look for! Then we started meeting the people and understanding how things work there. Things in Thailand are not as easy but people still work hard to make a living and find ways to make things work for them by trading.
Natural Materials of Thailand:
The natural resources give the ability to the people to collect their materials and create their crafts. The use of coconut is one of the biggest in production for them and as it is a beautiful material in shape and very hydrating for the body, it’s being used in so many different ways.. We got some beautiful lamps made out of coconut, some soap holders, coconut hangers, plenty of 100% coconut oil for the locks and some ash trays made of coconut wood.
Further than that, we found loads of lovely jewellery, tobacco pouches, note books, bamboo table lambs, wallets, incense sticks holders and incense sticks, hats and plenty more.. Just browse on our Shop and you will find plenty of things!
