Illuminaughty – Day of the Dead
Another Halloween has passed and another IlluminAughty is gone. Every year it’s bigger and better, and our experience of being part of it is always exciting. This year it held place at Bowlers Exhibition Centre in Old Trafford on the 29th of October with the name Day of the Dread.
The main stage was themed as The Day of the Dead looked spectacular this year with a beautiful canopy design by Matt & Michele with massive inflatable flowers hanging colourfully underneath it, and the goblin featuring on the stage designed by Jack Philips. Main headliner here was Mr SKAZI, along with Electric Universe and the Outsiders.
Purgatory as the Drum & Bass room hosted the big fire canopy we’ve designed in red, orange and yellow with branches coming out of it and lotus flowers that came straight out of hell. The stage was one of our designs we did with the Circus stage that blended perfectly with the colours. DJ’s like Calyx & Teebee, Black Sun Empire, Load Star and Tantrum Desire smashed the decks on this stage!!
In the Mortuary the aim was to create the feeling of a Mortuary, a frozen abandoned hospital with dead bodies hanging off the ceiling, biohazard barrels and bags over flooding of toxicants and blood. It was as spooky, creepy and disgusting as it sounds. This room hosted the Brakes room and DJ’s like Krafty Kuts, Plum DJ’s, A Skillz, Freestylers and a lot more.. As well as the amazing sketch of the doctor with the nurses and the Queen of the Dead.
It has been a pressure for another year to be involved with the artistic coordination and the production of this event with such a great team and we are looking forward for the next IlluminAughties to come.
Love and Craft the Chaos 😉 xxx
