So a lot of people have been wondering how do I make dreadlocks, how long does it take, how are they gonna look after..
Take a look at this time-lapse video with dreads from scratch to get an idea on how the installation happens. This installation took about 9 hours from start to finish from natural hair to dreads with natural hair extensions.
I’ve achieved this by:
- Sectioning the hair so the one dread doesn’t overlap the other
- Back Comping each dread with a dread comb
- Palm Rolling each dreads to give it a nice and circular shape
- and Using 2 different sizes of crochet needles, 1,25mm for a start to get the big bits of hair in the dread and 0,75 to get the little bits of hair in!
The crochet needle 0,75 can also be used for maintaining the dreadlocks afterwards.. Enjoy 🙂
