Styling and decorating dreadlocks is not just a profession for me—it’s a passion. Each style I create is a labor of love, reflecting the unique personalities and preferences of my clients. As I reminisce on the styles I’ve crafted in 2023 and before, I’m reminded of the joy and satisfaction that comes from seeing my clients light up with happiness. Here’s a glimpse into some of my favourite dreadlock styles, each a testament to the beauty of self-expression and creativity.
For clients who crave something unique and elegance, the style featuring waves large beads is a perfect choice. By designing intricate waves on wooden dreadlock beads and incorporating them into the locks, I create a look that is both sophisticated and eye-catching, allowing my clients to make a statement wherever they go.
This style is a recent favorite, and it’s all about embracing the natural warmth of ginger hair. After installing partial dreadlocks, I adorned them with an array of dreadlock accessories and creations from my shop. The combination of the rich ginger tones with carefully selected adornments creates a striking and unforgettable look.
Inspired by the strength and resilience of Viking warriors, this style combines shaved sides with dreadlocks on the top for a bold and powerful look.
By adorning the locks with Autumnal wraps, I add extra texture and visual interest, creating a style that commands attention and exudes confidence.
Fish tale braids with dreadlocks on either side
It’s a charming look that perfectly complements clients who proudly rock their locs. Following their maintenance session, we craft a style that not only showcases their individuality but also remains effortlessly chic for days on end. This clever combination not only adds a touch of flair but also contributes to maintaining the neatness of their locs for an extended period.
Blonde dreadlocks with one shaved sice
This cool style features blonde dreadlocks that go from dark to light, with one side of the head shaved for an edgy look.
The XL medi earrings add extra flair, showing off the wearer’s bold and confident vibe.
Blonde partial dreadlock style
In this classic style, blonde partial dreadlocks range from dark to light hues, paired with a feather bone hair stick, hair wraps and beads for a timeless touch of elegance that never fades.
Half Bun beach style dreadlocks
In this beach-ready look, I’ve fashioned my dreadlocks into a relaxed half bun, ideal for soaking up the sun and surf. To capture the essence of the ocean, I’ve accessorized with Ocean Vibes Dreadlock wraps, mirroring the tranquil shades of the sea.
(For a step-by-step guide on the half bun, be sure to check out the tutorial on my website) and I added the Ocean Vibes Dreadlock wraps to match the colours of the sea.
Dreadlock bun with scarf
For my client’s post-installation style, we opted for a chic dreadlock bun secured with a durable elastic band. To infuse a pop of color, we incorporated a thin raspberry dreadlock scarf, enhancing the look with vibrant hues.
This versatile and stylish choice adds flair to the overall appearance, elevating the dreadlock bun with a touch of personalized charm. Check the tutorial on How to wear a scarf with a twist
Dreadlock Space Buns
Dreadlock space buns offer a versatile and adorable look. They are perfect for any occasion, whether it’s a night out or a casual stroll in the park.
Dreadlock Style with knots
For a wild yet tidy look, try the dreadlock style with knots. It’s a simple technique that you can easily recreate at home. Check out the video tutorial for step-by-step guidance.
Dreadlock Fish Tale
In this unique style, I combined a half fish tail braid with her half loose blonde dreadlocks for a blend of structure and freedom.
For a step-by-step guide on achieving this look, check out the tutorial.
Dreadlock Bun
The timeless dreadlock bun is a classic style that never goes out of fashion. Whether it’s for daily wear or a special occasion, mastering the dreadlock bun is essential.
In this video tutorial, I’ll guide you through the steps, ensuring your bun stays secure with a sturdy elastic band. Let’s keep those dreadlocks looking fabulous!
As I reflect on the dreadlock styles I’ve created in 2023 and beyond, I’m filled with gratitude for the opportunity to bring joy and beauty into the lives of my clients. Each style represents a unique journey of self-expression and personal empowerment, and I feel privileged to have been a part of that journey. This time I’ve got some exciting styling tips for you and your dreadlocks. I’ve been making some spiral locks and I couldn’t but share this news and a tutorial on “How to wear a spiral lock” with you.
So it’s still lock down right? Don’t know about you but I still didn’t get a chance to get bored. Why? Because of my hands not wanting to stop making. Which is not a bad thing right? So this time I’ve been making some spiral locks! Yes spiral locks are this beautiful long colourful strips that can bend around your dreads and stay where you put them.
A spiral lock can be used as an alternative to elastic bands that sometimes can be harmful to the dreads if they are holding them too tight. The spiral lock can gently hold your dreads up with out suffocating them or giving them too much pressure.
And the best part is that you can wear a spiral lock in so many ways. I made a little video for you here to check it out.
How to wear a Spiral Lock Tutorial:
Spiral Lock Uses:
Pony tale holder/maker (I don’t even know if you can call it like this lol)
To decorate the area around your dread bun
Wear it as a bracelet
Wear it as a necklace
Yaaaas! So, I hope you liked it and found all the spiral lock functionalities useful! Because it is a super handy item to have! I wear mine every day and I love it! If you’d like to purchase the spiral locks press down here 👇
One of the most common questions I get from people about dreads is “how to wash dreads”, “what products are good for dreads” or “what shampoo to use”
You have probably heard me numerous times saying that you don’t need extravagant products for your dreads. What you need, is a clean, residue free soap bar or shampoo.
Now of course, there is a choice of a few different brands to find the one that suits you. Another thing to take into consideration is that everyone has a different scalp. That means, that not all the products will work the same on everyone.
Raw Roots Organic
I personally found one that suits my scalp more than any other made by Raw Roots Organic. They are a Danish brand which is eco-friendly and their products are organic. Good for you, your hair and the environment.
I like their products so much, therefore I started a collaboration with them and now you can find some of their dreadlock related products on my shop
This herbal liquid shampoo is great for dreadlocks. It cleans scalp and dreadlocks using mild detergents and organic plant extracts. 🌱
Some of the basic ingredients are tea tree oil, peppermint oil, nettle extract, apple cider vinegar and no residue! 🌻 The Herbal Cleanser is super natural and can help stimulate the scalp and prevents/relieves itching, dandruff, balance PH, hair loss, removes residue and other scalp problems ✨
The Greenie Genie is by far my favourite product for washing dreads! And it’s pretty foamy too! 🧼⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ .⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ It’s nourishing for the scalp with green organic ingredients, Himalayan salt that provides minerals for the skin and help to tighten and maintain loose hair 🌿
Both the liquid Shampoo and the Soap Bar are available on the shop and you can order them online or pick them up when you visit the shop.
Last week I had the great opportunity to be interviewed by @cocheremagazine about dreadlock care! 🌿I’ve attached below the post they did with all the useful information about dreadlocks, sustainable hair and how to take care of them:
“Dreadlocks are probably one of the hardest hairstyles to get done, but there are certain myths that have always been associated with it.
Maintenance, as much as it is a must, it’s easy and hassle free. Loctitian, @crafterelena , has had dreadlocks for 11 years herself, and has managed to look after them in the most sustainable manner, using natural oils and a few weekly, monthly and annual regimes.
“A lot of people have the misconception that dreads cannot be washed which is false. Dreads can be really clean and tidy too.
” Dreads are the most natural form of hair that one doesn’t need to worry much about. You wake up in the morning and your hair is in style, it’s literally a 5 minute job or less to tie them in a bun or style them. Swipe to find out more about the how’s and what’s of dreadlocks!”
Check @cocheremagazine out form more sustainable ways of living! 🦋I love this kind of stuff and I’d love to be supporting more causes like this! 🧚♀️

The online shop is open so you can still make your orders online and I’ll send them to you along with a virtual hug 🤗to thank you for your support in this difficult times.
